Now that the Teas, Noisettes and Chinas have finished their first flowering, we are enjoying the plentiful displays of the once flowering types such as Wichuranas, Ramblers, Species and otherwise known as “Old Garden Roses”, the gallicas, rugosas, damasks, etc. Many people have remarked that this is a very good year for roses and I would agree although it seems that I say that every other year. They certainly have profited from the abundant rain prior to flowering and the cooler weather allowing the blooms to last longer.
A fantastic day at La Roseraie du Desert’s Open Day, 13 May, 2012.
